Overclocking a multi-core processor isn't like overclocking a single core system. Overclock it wrong without experience will leave you s.o.l. Better to buy a SSD and top RAM and max it out that way first. Because what you are going to attempt will not work on cheaper hardware. And will require knowledge of liquid gases else dry ice, and the containment of those materials. Plus the proper use of them. There are teams that do this, not singular users. You better Google about the Overclockers Events that Gigabyte does for example.
not easily no. a pre production version of the fx 8170 was overclocked using liquid helium at overclocking events. amd did it to get the world record on overclocking that was previously held by their phenom 2 processors. that said with this massive overclock is a good sign for overclockers like me and you. we should be getting a 8 core processor running at between 4 and 4.5ghz without breaking too much of a sweat probably looking at a 5ghz overclock with the best cooling and power systems
