Gymnastics help!! Straddle press to handstand!?

I need some tips on how to do a straddle press to handstand........i can't even lift my legs off the ground to get them in the splits in the air....so are there any good work outs to help me get stronger in the areas of muscles that I will use for this trick?!!?

Answer:

handstand push ups against a wall. regular handstand push ups. handstand blocks. regular handstands (hold for as long as you can). handstand pirouettes. front and back handsprings with a strong block. all of these exercises can help build the strength in the shoulders and upper back. anything that uses good form and exercises the hand balancing muscles, basically. once you have built the necessary strength you'll find that this move is easy.

try practicing off your feet into the handstand. lean your shoulders slightly forward and rotate your hips up. hope this helps..:)
