Has anyone used a Magnetic Water Softener? Does it work?

Answer:

In theory, a magnetic field will cause calcium and other materials to form a circular shaped molecule. This molecule will not link well to other molecules. The claim is the minerals in the water can no longer readily stick to your faucets, fixtures, and shower heads. The above theory is true, but there is a catch. In order for the magnetic field to work it must be present were the mineralization takes place. The mineralization takes place when the water evaporates from your sink, faucet, toilet, etc. So how could a strong magnet placed on the pipe affect the water building up on a faucet in another room? It can’t. The fact is only the water remaining in the pipe near the magnet is exposed to the magnetic field. The water is not being evaporated while it is still in the pipe. When you turn the water on it flows through the magnetic field quickly. Water is not magnetic and can’t carry the field to the faucet
