Question:

hdvt over the air and cable?

if you are using both over the air and cable, how do they go together?so say there is over the air, 7.1,7.2,.But there is also a cable 7.1, etchow do you flip between them?do you have to turn off the cable to get over the air?

Answer:

you can buy a switch at the dollar store , so if you wanna watch cable you switch to A and antenna for hd switch to side B.
What you need is called an A/B switch. You hook cable to one input and antenna to the other. Then hook the output to the TV. You'll have to manually flip between the two inputs, although I think there may be some switches that can be controlled with a remote control (great huh, yet another remote). You can find the switches at RadioShack or one of the big-box stores like BestBuy or CircuitCity. If you're willing to spend some bucks, the TiVo HD PVR can seamlessly integrate the two sources and automatically record programs off both. But it's about $250-$300, plus $10-$13 per month for the service.
