Question:

Help Choosing A Car Alarm?

I have a 2002 Chevy Astro and the existing alarm fried out. I am very mechanical and capable of installing one myself but getting the right information is like pulling teeth. I am having a difficult time getting information on which components I need for my specific car. I checked out and the sellers cannot answer my questions. I also tried emailing some manufacturers and they don't answer emails. Most alarm manufacturers do not provide the necessary steps or guidelines to take when choosing the right alarm. I am looking for passive key entry and a remote start, plus the alarm itself. From what I have heard I need a bypass and door lock relay but when I research a specific alarm I can't get any information on these components needed leaving me frustrated. Is there not a website that can help me choose the right alarm and components for my specific car? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:

Usually it monitors the sensors for the ABS. If the sensor has been bumped it could trigger the light. See if you can have a mechanic do a diagnosis on it and see if he can have the computer cleared up and if it comes back on have it taken in and looked at.
Yes. The rollers are made of rubber and therefore should not cause any problem. However I would check in the user manual. If you do put it in there and it gets stuck just unplug/turn off the printer and pull the paper out.
