Question:

Help Getting Car Tires?

I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla VE and It currently has 4 14 inch tires. I want cheap tires and installed and balanced for a good price. I found 4 tires they are 15 inch tires. Can these still fit on my car I dont know about tires any help? they are a good price then I need to go somewhere to get them balanced and put on

Answer:

Nope. you need to match whats on there. Google how to read a tire.
I went to Firestone and got a set of 185 r14 tires on my 98 Corolla CE. Those replaced a set of the same that served me for about 40,000 miles. They were cheap. You cannot put 15 inch tires on 14 inch rims because they will not hold air and will simply flop around loose on the rim. You could go to a salvage yard and get a used set of the right size tires and that will be the cheapest deal you can get- and maybe not good quality, but they'll roll. There are better performing tires than the Firestones I got, but I don't need to make right turns at 40 mph. I would have gotten Hankook tires but they were sold out everywhere. The Hankooks grip better than the Firestones and wear well and long. They may be a little cheaper than Firestones.
