Question:

HELP! I need to know how to make Key Lime Pie by tomorrow?

I need a nice homeade key lime pie by tomorrow. I promised my soon to be mother in-law to get some, planning on just getting a frozen one. But I was talking to her yesterday and she was like I hate it when people just stick stuff in the oven for thanksgiving. So does anyone have a good recipe for key lime pie?

Answer:

Kaffir lime leaves A wonderfully fragrant Thai herb which you’ll find in the foreign food section of good supermarkets, delicatessens, health food shops and Oriental supermarkets. Hey how are you doing!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am pretty sure this is used in the real Pad Thai and some of the other Thai recipes - its looks to be a common thing in many recipes I have looked at. Have a great Day, let me know what you come up with.
I am a former chef and have worked in the Far east, Kaffir leaves, whether there fresh, dried or in powdered form are a seasoning like in Western cooking that would be similar in flavour to a bay leaf and parsley. They are used in soups, curry pastes, fish dishes, seafood dishes and in sweet syrups for desserts. In such things as Tom Yung soup it imparts a subtle citrusy herbaious taste in curry pastes they balance out the chilis heat, in sweet dishes in just adds a bit of fragrant contrast to the sweetness. Try them in as many dishes as you like, they can be used so many ways. I have used all 3 types, while the powder and dried one have a more pronounced flavour, and the fresh a more fresh citrusy taste the balance is about the same, if ever get to used the fresh ones along with the fruit it is a memorable event.
Kaffir leaf lime powder is an Asian spice that used in currys. That's about the extent of my knowlege of the spice..
