Question:

HELP! my cat's pooping all over my rug!?

My cat won't poop in his pan, but he will go on the rug all over the house. Is their any way to stop him?

Answer:

Make sure you've cleaned out his litter box. ;) Your cat may have worms you can take him to the vet and ask them to de-worm him. If they haven't already. Many cats occasionally eliminate outside the litter box. Any change in your cat's toilet habits is cause for concern and may signal a health problem. Pain when voiding, for instance, may give your cat an aversion to the litter box. Visit the vet as soon as possible to determine if an underlying illness is to blame.
A cat usually will do this if his litter has been kept dirty. I try and clean mine every night. A cat hates dirty litter. Maybe he has worms? How old is the cat? If it's a kitten, pick up some of his stool and place it in his litter. Then, put the cat in the litter over and over until he knows!
Your cat doesn't like the cat litter, smell, texture taste. Try different litter. Some are too dusty, raise a dust cloud cats don't like this. Some smell bad to the cat. Some are too course, my cat loved fine sand and tracked it all over the house. You must also take him to the place where he pooped and rub it on him, then yell no. Later when he comes for love, love him lots. If you walk into a room and he sneaks out or runs, check behind furniature for cat poop. yell no and put him in he cat box. They learn fairly fast what you want. You must learn also. Clean up cat poop with amonia or vinegar. Dust area with baking soda. Let stand 1 hour and vacuum.
Yes. okorder / ... Cats are clean creatures and like to use a litter box so his natural tendencies are on your side. Good luck!
First you will need to clean the rug, and spray it with something that will eliminate the oder from where he has gone in the past.. Cats tend to return to where they last went and go there again. When you catch him in the act, quickly pick him up and put him in his litter box. and admonish him to use it. . When you clean up any messes he makes put it in the liter box, and show the cat where you put it. If this really becomes a big problem and he doesn't start using the liter box, you can always kennel him with his liter box, until he starts using it.. You can either put him in a large kennel, or put him in a specific room with the box..
