i'm 15 and i'm redoing my room, getting a new big white bed and right now i have this desk chair that i don't like, and i was wondering if i could like redecorate it? like it's a chair on wheels, with a back support and a gap separating it from the part you sit on, and i would like to make it more arm-chairish?(it doesn't have handrests and i won't bother trying to put those on!) :)and umm i'd like to make it in possible navy blue silk or something i'm not sure yet, kind of like jenny's dark pink armchair thing on gossip girl?well if you have any tips :D
What a great idea trying to customize a chair. How about getting some thin strips of foam and wrapping them around the parts of the chair you want to change and staple with a paper stapler. Then get the fabric you want cut into strips about hand width and wrap around the chair or use your stapler open to attach to different parts. Try using recycled clothes as well cut up to wrap around for a funky look
you can fix some beautiful art in cloth on the back of the chair and add some threat counts on the sides of golden or copper color as black with look beautiful with those color combinations .
Staples won't work because your desk chair is probably plastic or maybe metal and not wood. I would sugges slip covers. You can fit fabric inside out with pins, then take it off and sew it together then turn it right side out. Velcro will close the open side around anything that sticks out.
