HELP! question that needs a answer?

Here is the question that needs a answer:A farmers silo is 7 meters in diameter and 25 meters high. Calculate the surface area of the silo not inclauding the floor.

Answer:

wow this is the first math question i can actually answer on yahoo asnwers haha lol geometry right? i just took a final on it silo's are shaped as a right circular cylinder Surface area formula is 2(pie)(radius)square + 2(pie)(radius)(height) the farmers silo is 3.5 = radius and the height is 25 if you plug the radius and the height in the formula your answer should come out to be ---- 199.5 (pie) orr 626.74
I think this is actually not all that tough. Since we aren't worried about the base, all we have is a rectangle. Imagine cutting the silo in a straight line like a ladder. You can just then lay it flat. So, you'll have 7 pi times 25. This can be simplified to 175 pi!
*edit 7 x pi x 25 = the sides of the silo 3.5 x 3.5 x pi = top side + top = surface area *edit edit 7m times 3.1415 ( that's pi) times 25m= sides Radius Squared ( that means half of the diameter times half the diameter 3.5m x 3.5m) times 3.1415 ( pi) = top sides (550m) plus top (38m) = 588 m sq don't forget the m sq other wise it's wrong.
