Question:

High Chair???

Hi, I need to get a high chair for my little baby boy. He is 6 months old. Would you please share with me your opinion and experience. I needs to deside for one and i really want to chose the best one.thanks

Answer:

I bought a highchair for my 6mo son from Ikea for $50 and it is great. It is white moulded plastic, and is in 2 pieces (chair and tray). It is perfect height for feeding whilst sitting, and the tray can be removed so baby can sit at the table. Best of all, it is compact (important as I have a small house), there are no crevices for food to get caught and it is really easy to clean. A friend of mine also has one of these chairs, and still uses it for her 2.5yo. If you are concerned about comfort, you can also buy an inflatable cushion that gives some padding (especially for the little bubs).
I have a great one by Evenflo. I suggest getting one that folds up (somewhat). Its helpful to be able to set it aside out of the way if you need to. Mine has a tray that you can put on and take off with only one hand. The seat cover is nice, and soft, but totally washable, both by hand and washing machine. It doesn't stain at all! I got it from Walmart for my baby shower a couple of years ago. I'm sure you can look on their website and find a similar one.
It's doubtful that this person is truly a Jehovah's Witness. While many can be fairly dogmatic, most would hold their tongue in this situation. Rank and file JWs do not call down the wrath of God upon others, even those who have defamed or hurt their feelings. One last comment: Why are you coming to Yahoo Answers for help? Why don't you go to your Kingdom Hall and ask your brothers and sisters to help you? Why not contact a local KH near where your injured son is located? Could it be that since Jehovah's Witnesses do not have any organized charitable assistance that you know that such entreaties would be fruitless. This is just the ramblings of a very angry person. I doubt if anyone would hold out their hand to help such a person or their family. Like trying to feed a rabid dog...
I bought the high chair for my two year old at Meijer for 20.00. It is a basic molded plastic high chair. A year later I had twins and a friend gave me a fancy high chair with adjustable height, reclining seat and it folds up. Now that my twins are 1, only one of them will still sit in a high chair. I am going to get rid of the fancy one. Neither one of my twins did well in it. Sometimes the simple things are best, and that is what I would recommend. A simple highchair. Good Luck choosing.
i think a highchair is a great thing to get for your child. it is a way for him to be able to begin feeding himself and learn. my son is now 4 but the one i used for him was by fisher price and it was called the play and swing. it transformed from a highchair to a swing. even if you dont need the swing i still recommend it because it allows to raise and lower the height. as my son got older I lowered it for better stability. it also allows you to adjust for tables so your son can eat at the table as well as with the tray that comes with it. it also works great as he gets even bigger because you can remove the seat belt and it can be used as a regular dining chair that you can lower as he gets taller. i hope this helps and good luck
