Question:

Hi, im a bodybuilder.?

I was wondering If it was possible for mew to lift a car without hurting my self. I mean as to lift a car from the front. Is it possible and how much weight would that be?

Answer:

if you cannot already do it, dont try it, just do a turn as good as you safely can.otherwise, if you fall, you automatically fail.

Several years ago I was talking about racing with my brother and mentioned chicanes. My mother overheard and asked what a chicane was; as the only word similar she was familiar with was chicanery. I looked it up and she was right the only definition for chicane had to do with deception, trickery and is the root of chicanery. I don't know why racing uses the word as it does. Darc got it right. Only thing I would add to his comments is that on very sharp slow turns it is best to shift your body away from the turn. If you are making a hard left turn scoot your butt over so that most of your left butt cheek is on the seat and your right cheek hanging off a bit. This helps to balance out the bike as it's leaning. Also focus on where you want to go and not the pavement itself.

All cars have different weights. Sometimes in strongman cometitions they will lift the front of smaller cars -- like a sumo deadlift type of pull. to figure out the actual weight it is a calc problem ithink where you take the total weight of the car and use a triangle to figure out what the force is depending on the angle of the front of the car. I am guessing it would be a third of the total weight. if the car is 1800 lbs, you would be dead lifting 600+. It's not IMpossible.
