Question:

Home business Pallets?

I am planning on starting an online business that I want to run from home. I have already found a wholesaler that will supply my merchandise but the will supply by the pallet. the problem is the only spare space to store the merchandise is my garage. Is there any advice that you can give me on where to store it like renting a storage place that I can store it? Any ideas would be good.

Answer:

If just the shrink wrap will keep your product securely on the pallet, then there's no reason to use a pallet strap. By the same token... If you're shipping something heavy like an engine or a transmission, then it SHOULD be firmly strapped down to the pallet, but then there's no need for shrink wrap. It's the carrier's responsibility to secure the load in the vehicle to keep it from shifting.
If you use a pallet strap, you don’t need use to shrink wrap and vice versa. No rule as such. I think it is legal. But, before shipping you can check the packaging guidelines online to be on a safer side.
