Question:

Homemade mixing medium recipe for Eyeshadow pressing?

I want to press my mineral eyeshadows by faerie organics, however the mixing mediums out there have silicone and other parabens and chemicals in them, and that will kind of defeat the purpose of me wanting to use healthier makeup on my skin. So can I make a natural version of a pressing medium for my eyeshadows?I saw a 1 part glycerin to 3 parts water recipe but I am told that is goes bad over time, If I use that will my eyeshadows go bad too? Here are the ingredients in my eyeshadow if it helps:ingredients: mica, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, kaolin clay, boron nitride, iron oxides, may contain ultramarines, chromium greenthanks for your help!!

Answer:

I dont really know of any completely natural pressing mediums out there. My best advice would be to press the eyeshadows you want to use in smaller batches with the 1 part glycerin 3 parts water recipe you described. That way you can at least try it and see how long its good for before pressing large amounts of eyeshadows. Or even try it out on an old mineral eyeshadow you have lying around to see how it works.
