Question:

How best to remove epoxy glue from resin sculpture?

I have a resin sculpture that has several bits broken off it/old. I'd like to disassemble the whole thing (about 6 parts total) and fix all the broken bits by hand, possibly re-casting them depending on the damage. I am fairly confident that the parts are bonded with epoxy. Is there a good way of softening or dissolving the bonds without damaging the resin itself? I am not concerned about the current paint, I plan on repainting the whole thing anyway :) Some areas are tight, so along with dissolving is there a method of sawing into the glue with some form of abrasive line?Thank you!

Answer:

We should all wear 2 thick lead suits with leaded glass face shields, remain indoors, and open the doors and windows to let the radon gas out, even when it's 20 below zero outside.
I walked into a sliding glass door this weekend. It's kind of like what happened to you, only with a glass door and my head instead of with pipes and hands and other stuff. But I don't get to have surgery, and that makes me feel cheated.
