Question:

how can i disarm a car alarm with out remote?

I have a previously owned1999 Mazda Miata (no owners manual) and the battery recently died. When I connect the new battery the alarm sounds (I did not even know it had one?). I have no remote for the alarm but I did find a silver toggle switch under the dash with on and off positions as well as a small red light. I have somehow turned it off once before but I have no idea what I did. I just started flipping it back and forth. Is there anyway to completely get rid of this alarm or disconnect it? or does anyone know the magical sequence to get it to turn off?

Answer:

Assuming its a production facility alarm equipment, turning the most important in both the door lock to open, or ign lock to commence will reset it. If its aftermarket you'll want to confirm someone that installs them and how one can deactivate or get rid of it. each and each and every aftermarket unit is different with thier own unique deactivation techniques.
Most alarms are connected to the drivers door key lock,, you put the key in the door lock and unlock it and the alarm goes off.to arm it you lock the door with the power locks. It's Like Magic . I hope this helps you. Good luck
If the system was wired with the bypass featuresimply turn ignition switch to on then flip switch under dash.then turn ignition switch back off .the light should stay lit and the alarm will be off until you flip switch back.to remove alarm just remove all wiring and the box under dash and be sure to reconnect any wire cut and spliced into alarm system.
