Question:

How can I extend the range of the remote control for my cable box?

I have a fairly large living room (about 5 meters between the sofa and the TV). The TV remote works fine at this range, but the remote control doesn't seem to have enough range to reach the cable box under the TV. Is there any way to fix this?

Answer:

You may use a radio booster that is powered separately and a longer antenna. Since there is no feedback involved from the chopper to the remote, you may easily boost your signal without worries.
There are remote control(IR) extenders that you can buy that will extend your remote range. If you're just out of range, you may want to place the cable box in a different location so it can get a better signal. Try different angles.
