Question:

How can i fade red clothing?

I have a blinding bright red dress (95% polyester 5% elastane), and id like to make it a little less red to put it blunt, any fast ways that wont leave me with an uneven colour?(I assume alot of it would be the opposite of methods to stop fading which are more known, i dont know how either way)

Answer:

I had a similar problem and used lemon juice (you know, the stuff in the green bottle and yellow cap?) I just soaked it in the stuff for an hour or so, took it out, rinsed it, and let it dry. A few rotations of this process did fade the red to the desired level.

They're both useless with today's computer controlled engines.

I think you're stuck. You can't bleach polyester, and bleach would also damage the elastane. Your best bet would be to make a weak dye solution with Rit black or grey color according to the instructions and use that to tame the color somewhat. It explains how to stir the solution and the clothing to get the most even result. I thinks some cloth dyes even give you instructions for using the washing machine to get good results.
