Question:

How can I improve the light output of my OKorder projector headlights?

I got some ebay projector headlights for my camaro. I should of listened to the majority of people who say ebay projectors suck. They look nice.but I can‘t see much: the beam pattern is all spread out and strange, and doesn‘t extend far at all. Is there any way I can upgrade them so I can see more and farther? Should I aim them higher? Get better bulbs? Will improving the bulbs give me a more lit up area? Thanks for your help.

Answer:

Not really. Before you get in trouble (what you've done is illegal), get back to the original halogens, which are the only legal solution. You may look for the new improved brightness bulbs from reputable manufacturers, just make sure they have the original power (60W main, 55W dipped), otherwise you may bake the headlamp protective cover and coating. Real industry-grade HIDs cost much more and require their projectors, auto leveling system and headlamp washer. In other words, they must be factory-installed.
I recommend to get you some 8000K hid's because it has that noticeable blue tint to it. But for clarity issues they the 6500K's and the have just a hint of blue in them. But you can see the roads clearer and just remember the higher the number the more color it has to it than clarity. 6000K-white, 8000K-light blue, 10000K- Violet, and anything beyond that would be purple.
OK, first off. eBay doesn't manufacture or sell ANY products. All they do is provide a platform for private individuals to buy and sell their products on the internet. If you bought headlights from someone else on eBay, it's not the fault of the auction house. Next. Projector headlights that use the same lamps as the original headlights won't improve your lights or the beam pattern. The only way to get brighter headlights is to buy more powerful lamps (light bulbs). It's the same thing as changing a 50 watt bulb in your desk lamp to a 100 watt bulb. If you really want brighter, better lighting for your car, you can buy the blue-white High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps for $500-$750, plus you'll have to rewire the lighting system in your car to make them work, or you can just cheap out and buy some higher wattage lamps from your local auto parts store. Just be aware that higher wattage lamps create more heat, and could get hot enough to melt the plastic lenses in your new projector headlights.
