My spare tire cover was stolen last year. I bought a replacement and i can't afford to have it stolen again, I'm trying to find a solution. The dealer does not sell locks for this cover. It is a cover that literally just slips on to the spare wheel and comes right off. The body is plastic but the part of it that actually grips the wheel is vinyl and elastic -_-. Any suggestions how I can protect the spare cover from being stolen?

There are clear resins (thermoset plastics) that can be cast into silicone molds. Not all resins and silicone types are compatible, though, you need to check with the supplier. There are 4 readily available plastic types that produce clear castings: Polyester, Acrylic, Epoxy and Polyurethane. Each has its own applications, pros and cons. Most clear resins will need to be cured in a pressurized tank to get a casting that is 100% free of included air bubbles.
