I need the wheel part of a castor wheel for furniture piece but I can‘t find an acceptable one. I‘d like to make a wooden wheel that is identical in size to the castor wheel.
I've made many wooden wheels in the past as a working wood turner You will need a hard wood mahogany or teak or similar oak tends to have Internal shakes {cracks} if you haven’t got a lathe you can do a small wheel with a drill Cut the wood to a rough size and shape drill a hole in centre and put a nut and bolt Tight. Put bolt in drill chuck if you have a drill stand it is easier But you can clamp the drill down. The rest you can work out yourself Shape wheel with glass paper block don't try chisels
