I wouldn't advise using any of those combos. well, maybe the silver max. but any low-end quantum is going to be junk. period. same with shimano (for BC's). pick up a BPS extreme reel when you catch them on-sale for $59. full aluminum body/sideplates, and I believe brass gears. very well made reel for $59. pair with whatever graphite rod you can find. I personally use a berkley cherrywood 6 1/2' M with good results. upgrade to the lightning rod, though. 6 1/2' M or MH.
