Question:

How can you judge the quality of a gemstone? Preferably a quartz or amethyst?

I would like to buy a quartz or amethyst pendulum. But how do I know that it is of good quality?

Answer:

A typical rock grinder can handel quartz. Its just large wheels with very strong teeth imbeded in the wheels, a funnel hopper feeds the wheels, and powerfull moters/ with gears to give masive power at low speed... You can buy comericial amounts of quartz that is all of a size that the grinder can handel... Actually i bet you could just buy the ground crystal but if your doing it as a business? What eves... So im guessing you want very fine powders? If said grinder doesnt satisfy you could always run through a second process, say a smasher... Some machine that uses a large weight and repeatedly drops it on the product. ...another thought Nature does it with water. Freeze thaw cycles, waves, roots... Good luck!
