just wanted to know bc we need to get our huge sofas into a little door today and we dont know how to do it. we have a small gate to get to the backdoor so the backdoor not that helpful
That must be very tough for you, I am sorry. It does not seem that he is serious at all with the relationship, as he promised to pay bills and have not. How can you trust that he will contribute at all with your child if he is not contributing right now. My fear would be that he leaves when times get tough, like the first couple weeks after the baby is born. I think you need to figure out if he is really serious about the relationship, because right now he is just milking you for a place to stay and money. Men like this make my skin crawl. You should make him leave your house and have him find a place to live by himself. Tell him you need some time to think things over and to see if he is serious about your relationship. Hopefully, you can figure things out. After the baby is born, whether you are living together or not, file for child support because you are not married. Also, make sure his name is on the birth certificate. This is all to MAKE SURE he pays for his child since you cant rely on him to even pay bills. I wish you the best of luck!!
butter up the doors and the sofa. Get a running start and push. Or you can always get a contractor to pull the door frame then move the sofa in. Then contractor can put it back on. Also do the window.
Have you tried taking the door off of the hinges? That will give you a little more room. Otherwise, you just have to try angling the sofa in different ways to get it through.
How about the front door? Sliding glass doors? I had a tight fight through an interior door once, to get the sofa in we removed the door to get an extra few inches. This is not hard to do - just take the pins out of the hinges.
Sometimes if you cannot fit furniture into your entrance it helps to try to reduce the size. Perhaps remove excess packaging or remove the legs. This provides the additional clearance that you might need. Another option is to simply tilt the sofa upwards assuming you have normal height ceilings. This will allow you to enter the room without having to turn the sofa nearly as much
