Answer:

I first want to say congrats on your new baby as I too am a lover of Staffies, but 2 months ago, my mom's dog passed away from lymphoma so 2 weeks ago we went to some of the local shelters in search of a new pal for her. The neighbor hood we live in has size and breed restrictions so we were looking for a small dog, but it broke my heart to walk through the county animal shelter as 95% of the dogs there were either Staff, Pit or mastiff mix and it upset me to know that because for various reasons (as each dog there had their own story) most of these beautiful, sweet, loving dogs would be euthanized just because of ignorance of the media, restrictions from homeowners associations and the cruelty of people who use them soley for the purpose of fighting/bait dogs. So my answer is this, if you truely want to stud him because he has beautiful marking or a great temperment, please make sure the owners of the female are responsible sellers and not just in it for the cash. BTW, enjoy your boy, as I have so many throughout my lifetime as they are wonderful dogs.
Getting neutered does NOT reduce aggression, THATS up to you. ETA: Intact males are not actually more likely to bite and neutered males are not less likely to bite, as people like to state when using the data for pro neuter. It is just how people interpret the data and stats.
YES!! You need to get them nuetered, b/c of the following reasons: For population control. There are too many dogs without homes. You just need to go to your local shelter to see how many - Males generally make much better pets when neutered. Males will usually lose the urge to roam. I have seen statistics that state that 90% of dogs that roam will stop after neutering. Dogs will be less likely to urine mark. Males are usually less aggressive towards other dogs (60% less according to statistics I have seen). They are less dominant with their own families. Prevents testicular cancer and prostate problems later in life. They are 70% less likely to mount other dogs or people. HOPE THIS HELPS!!
I could not disagree with you any stronger! In case you haven't noticed, the civil war still rages mostly unseen in this country!
Getting them neutered could reduce aggression. But, more importantly, it can really help your dog avoid health issues down the road. It will also help them from marking in the house. There are a lot of pros to getting your dog neutered. Best of all, it will help keep more unwanted puppies and dogs from ending up in shelters or from being euthanized.
