Question:

How do I calculate the discharge (gpm) from a pipe knowing it's diameter and the system pressure?

I am designing a sprinkler system. I need to know the amount of water that will be discharged during a test of a valve assembly. I know the diameter of the discharge pipe as well as the system pressure.

Answer:

Wrong animal sweetheart. You want armadillos for a good speed bump. Half a dozen should be sufficient. Aardvarks don't have armor just long hair and would make better dust mops.
Just setup a schedule to change the batteries every 6 months. Spring power a smoke detector, not even remotely practical. Ditto with the capacitor. I can sympathize. I can remember one 3AM checking the 4 smoke detectors to find the one that was beeping. Never did, just took the batteries out of all of them. Turns out it was my cell phone beeping, which it does for a missed call. .
