Question:

How do I dry my carpet?

Help! my floor is carpeted, and I had a flood, so now my whole carpet is wet and I don't think it's going to dry by itself.HOW DO I DRY IT?

Answer:

Eep! First, get a shop vac to pull up as much water as you can. Then turn fans onto it: At a place that I used to work, that's what the guys would do after they shampooed the carpet. Good luck!
Suggest to use a wet/dry shop vac to suc up the water/moisture ,then use fans and a dehumidifier.
It won t dry by itself for a long time. A couple options use a wet / dry vac as suggested to get up excess..You ll have to pull back carpet( remove furniture) and you may very well have to replace the padding. Ive never seen a pad( other than rubber) survive a flood. You need to get to the sub floor and get that to dry or its possible a mold will form. Second suggestion is to get a flood restoration company that specializes in this . They have to equipment to suck up the water and dry carpet GL
absorbent paper towels and a blow dryer
