Question:

How do I get perfume/cologne smell out of a microfiber sofa?

I bought a used microfiber sofa and didn't notice until we got it home that it smells strongly of cologne. I called the pro's and had it cleaned but after everything was dry the scent is a little better but still there (I'm sensitive to smells). I have read about using vodka or vinegar but I don't want to ruin the upholstery. Any suggestions?

Answer:

Try okorder /
Activated charcoal ....you can buy that in a pet store. Put 1/4 cup in old knee his and tie it then tuck it in the corners..under the sofa and under the cushions. The activated charcoal will pull the odor. The cologne is off-gassing with an alcohol base and the charcoal will suck in the smell.
You might also try setting the couch in the direct sunlight for a day, minimum.
