Plumber cannot find cause. Has cleaned trap under wash basin. Dug up outside to see if toilet trap is in good condition. Appears to be. Even outside wall has been removed to see if any other pipes are ok. Everything looks fine. I'm at a loss.
Try baking soda and white vinegar, pour in the soda then the vinegar, let it foam and sit awhile, then follow up with some hot water. Assuming that your sink drains fine ..... The trap keeps enough water in it to prevent sewage gasses from backing up into the sink (in your case). If the water is in the trap as it should be, the gasses CAN NOT back up to the sink, the question is why isn't the water staying in the trap like it should ( might be getting syphoned out) or the trap isn't installed properly, or the trap is leaking, it has to be one or the other.
