Question:

how do i get them to admit they ruiened my tire and to replace it?

they put a hole in my sidewall of my rear tire putting my truck on the lift ..the driver did not go in strait and the tire missed the ramp and punched a hole in the sidewall.. there is a pin and a cotter pin on the left side of the hoist...

Answer:

I work in the automotive business and have for several years. chances are that they didn't do it, if they had and they were a reputable repair shop, they would have let you know what the problem was and then fixed the problem. I know you're not supposed to plug or patch a sidewall hole, but it can be done successfully and safely. if it was a drive-on lift with two platforms for the vehicle to drive on, if he missed the ramp then there would be a few more serious problems than just a puctured tire. I honestly don't think that the repair shop caused the problem.
i have seen that happen many times and they should come thru with a replacement tire of equal price and tread life.if we caught the edge of the hoist is was always from not setting the arms back in place properly and we always took care of replacing the tire.the shop has insurance, dont back down on it ,they are at fault
