Question:

how do i keep my gums from going over my molar bracket?

i have braces and i have to molar brackets in the backand i am afraid that the gum is goiving over the bracketwhat can i do to stop it from growing on top of it?salt water garggling?brush teeth more?listerine?

Answer:

make sure your brushing well and yes listerene is good also-it is normal to have some gum flap if these are you 2nd molar bands-as they continue to be moved upright the flap will recede.
Make sure you are brushing properly in those back areas. Most of the time gums are going to go over brackets because they are inflammed. To reduce the inflammation you have to keep the area clean which is hard to do with braces. Are you going in regularly for your cleanings? An electric brush might help
mine have done the same thing! when i went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned, she said it's perfectly normal because my molars are only small so there is not much room to put the bracket so they had to put it close to the gums. apparently they just lift the bracket out from underneath the gum when they come off.
