Question:

How do I keep the bottom of my pots and pans from getting ugly. Mine are turning weird colors and looking yuk

And I do not have a dishwasher at this house.

Answer:

Bar keepers friend type of cleanser will do the job. It is a type of cleanser. Works on copper pan bottoms. Good stuff
I've found that baking soda and a damp scrubbing pad are great for removing lots of things from pots and pans. If the strange color is on the outside of the pan though, you'll want to consider using something else. Here's something else that my mother showed me for making frying pans easy to clean: While they're still hot, put a few drops of dish detergent and water in the pan. Let it sit while you eat. Clean-up afterwards should be a breeze.
The plants do it all the time through photosynthesis. All the fossil fuels are the result of the plants capturing the energy for us to use. It is not plant fossil fuel not animal. The plants are recycling the CO2 right now.
The very best solar storage system is the way nature does it-make oil out of biomass and pump it into underground storage spaces.
Do you mean the under side of the pot? If so Bon amie(sp) or a steel wool pad and baking soda might work. once you get them clean put soap on the bottom next to the heat sorce that will keep them from blackening.
