Question:

How do I know when my Heating Core in my car is going bad!?

I have a Mitzubishi Galant and when I run my air conditioner, water leaks in on my passenger floor. The leaking substance is not Antifreeze, it is just water. It only leaks in my passenger floor when i run my air conditioner. Could this be the work of a bad heating core or is there something else that could be going on?

Answer:

No its not the heater core if it only leaks when the A/C is on. that is the drain tube under the ac cover, look near the floor, and under the dash, theres a hose that goes thru the floor to drain water out, or the plastic is cracked somewhere
There is a drain for the ac and sometimes it gets plugged up. See about getting it opened up. You will know the heater core is bad because the windows will fog up and the interior will smell like antifreeze.
That water isn't coming from your heater core but actually dripping off of the evaporator for your air conditioner. If your heater core was going bad that would be coolant instead of just water. Typically though water shouldn't be dripping that much from the evaporator side of the AC system unless it is really humid and the moisture is just condensing the moment it hits the evaporator.
that is not your heater core, if it was then you would be smelling anti freeze. what the issue is goes like this. the drain for the A/C is plugged, most likely by mold or algae.look on the fire wall for a small plastic or rubber piece that will be close to the blower motor unit. use a tool to fish out any thing that might be plugging it up.
I would say not the heater core. Most likely the drain to your evaporator (inside heat exchanger for your A/C) has popped off.
