Question:

How do I lift my truck?

I have heard of many different ways to lift a truck(Specifically a 2003 F150 XLT Crew with a 5.4 Liter and a styleside full size bed)What are the pros, cons of eachAnd obviously the cost of eachAlso can you combine two styles of lifts? ExAdd a leaf+ body lift?

Answer:

Get a CAI if you want toThe fact of the matter is that car manufacturers are getting better at providing almost optimum intakes straight out of the factoryTheir pieces are still ugly, but the gains from a new CAI aren't nearly as good as they were in the late 90s/early 2000sObviously if you plan on upgrading the exhaust and putting on a hand-held programmer (or equivalent) as well, the gains will then be maximizedDrive-ability will NOT be affected by a CAI, that's just a ridiculous statement.
Cold Air intakes are nothing more than a tube with a free flowing filterYou aren't going to see more than a 1-2hp difference from the cheapest to the most expensiveYou probably wouldn't see more than a 2-3hp difference between an expensive one from AEM or Injen and a $15 PVC pipe with a KN filter.but one will certainly look nicer.
I'd recommend KNThey've been the standard in filters and intakes for a pretty long time.
