Question:

How do I power my Fire Alarm?

I brought a Fire Alarm w/ Strobe Light and Pull Station around a year ago. They are brand new. How do I Power it? I know you need a Control Panel is there any where I could get one other than e-bay cheap? Is there another way I could power it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Answer:

Portable fire extinguishers ( the ones you can pick up) would I think NOT be fireproof in that parts of the extinguisher are made of plastic and that they are pressurized. Anything in a sealed container that has been pressurized would expand and eventually explode when the temperature reaches high enough beyond the bursting point of the bottle or valve on top of it. There are very few things that are fire proof meaning uneffected by fire, even steel beams melt and fail as we saw at the World Trade Center on 9/11. High enough heat would destroy the average fire extinguisher, but the fire wouldn't burn the destroyed extinguisher leaving no residue.
Actually, you need a roller with a smaller nap. Probably a 1/4 inch nap or, smaller if they have.
