Question:

How do I reattach wires accidentally cut on my headphones?

The wire on my headphones were cut clean off in the middle of the wire. Is there any way it can be fixed? I tried to find out other ways but it seems one of the only ways is to strip the wire of its covering. Is there a way to fix it without burning the wires?

Answer:

to add to Generic John's post ..pay attention to the color of the wires. one will most likely have no cover to it ,thats the neutral. so it would be for example . to red, white to white , neutral to neutral
I totally agree with Mr. Smith. However, I would use heat shrink tubing for a neater look than the tape.
Strip an inch of the wires using a knife - don't burn anything, plastic gives off toxic fumes. Edit: use a very sharp knife or a stanley knife, slice towards the end of the wire, repeat until the end of the wire is stripped. Take 1 each of the wires that were cut, twirl them round each other like ivy twists around a branch, tape up the wire, repeat with the other two wires, then tape around them all. If the connection between the cut wires is good then the headphones should work like nothing happened.
