how do i reprogram my key fob for my bmw 3t-ews car alarm as my kids have pressed the button to many times?

Answer:

Before you do a new one or try to reprogram the old one try replacing the battery on the one you have. It may just be dead. I purchased a used alarm fob for my 96 318 for $50 on the web and they sent the instructions. It's not hard to do just complicated if yours is the same as mine. All doors closed Open trunk prop open Open driver door get in close door W/0 starting car turn key to on position and off position 5 times within 10 seconds. Alarm light comes on. Press first button light will flash after a few seconds. Get out of car and leave door open Close trunk Get back in car and close door. First button should now work. (have windows open btw to unlock car from inside should they lock) Repeat above for second button. This is all I can remember of the process. Guys on Ebay sell this instruction for like $10 and email them to you. This is free but I may have left off a step as I'm old and memory fails me now at timesgrin. Good luck RoyG KC
Go to your local or nearest Auto Zone and ask them to scan it for you then you can take your card they give you to your mechanic he'll know what to do. They will even sell you the parts you may need.
My 'ninety two Jeep would not have an alarm and for my section, i think of they're a waste of time. i've got considered too lots of them going off because of the fact the vehicle gets touched or bumped or the wind blows too annoying and that i've got observed the folk fairly lots forget approximately approximately them. My neighbor's used to bypass off interior the midst of the night and it in basic terms P|ssed me off because of the fact it became in basic terms the wind. They bypass off so easily that it is the Cry Wolf syndrome. BTW, I save my keys on a hook by potential of the front door. I asked the question under and looks that it can be a moot element if the vehicle alarm DID bypass off. Sorry
I called BMW Melb. today re a new key for my 2001 540. $520 for the key and $80 to program it. Doncaster BM said $540 for both.
If you have an Auto Zone near you they will check the codes for free.
