I have an Emerson AC motor, had it for a few years... Think I tore it from an old window air conditioner... Has orange, blue, brown, white, and black. Any Ideas on how to wire it would be great! On the sticker it list three different speeds (rpms) So i'm guessing I don't need all the wires and some are just quot;taps.quot;
The yellow cord it to run the fan in a/c mode, so it plug on the defrost board the place the a/c terminal is, the black one is nuetral so it plugs on the place the uncomplicated or nuetral is and the pink cord plugs on for heat mode. those terminal are on the defrost board. you need to of have a wiring diagram in the container, if no longer then you certainly ought to work out it on the area of the motor. in case you don't be conscious of what you're doing i propose you get somebody who does. you're messing with 240 volts which could drop you ineffective in a heartbeat. good success, and please be careful
dont know if this is right but usually the brown is the capacitor wire, black is the high speed, red is low speed and yellow is med speed with white being the common wire. With yours having a different color code I am not sure if it is this way or if you have a 220 motor instead of a 110. Think I would get on Emerson sight and see if you can find the motor to be sure how to hook it up as different companies might use different colors.
You are correct Black and white are you power. The other 3 are fan speeds. I believe blue will be high, brown will be med, orange will be low. Not 100% sure (units can vary) but play around with them and you can tell which is which.
