How do I wire with reg 5 wire T-Stat Installing a 2 ton Goodman A/C cond unit to a old Carrier Heat pump AHU with emergency heat strip.

depends on the t stat look at the back for a better idea the wires should be collor coaded 2 for the heat and 2 more for the ac and maby 1 for a ground
red is your low voltage green is your fan yellow is your cool brown is your com orange is your heat how many wires do you have on the old one should be color to color
If you're wiring a thermostat to control a conventional condensing unit (non-heat pump) and a heat pump air handler, it is no different than wiring a conventional condensing unit and a standard non-heat pump air handler. Yellow (or Blue) - Y White - W Green - G Red - R The only question would be the remaining wire. Was it used to energize the reversing valve (O terminal on heat pump thermostat)? If so, you could take that wire and tie it into the C (common) wire/terminal at the air handler. That is, if your thermostat has a C terminal. If not, the wire would not be used. I'd suggest making sure those are the wire colors being used by checking them at the air handler first.
