Question:

how do smoke particles absorb alpha radiation which sounds an alarm in a smoke detector?

i know that the alarm sounds when current does not flow between the electrodes due to smoke particles absorbing the alpha radiation, but how do the smoke particles absorb the alpha radiation??

Answer:

Add a layer of newspaper strips and glue, then a layer of paper pulp mixed with glue. Sand that to finish then apply several coats of lacquer. I just saw the whole process on How's it made on TV last week! Season 9 episode 8
I'm 19, and I charge $350 per month in the PNW.
