Question:

How do wrestlers take chair shots?

I understand wrestling is staged, but sometimes the wrestler doesn't block it and they get hit hard. I hear they slow it down somehow before they hit their opponent or something...This is the kinda thing I'm talking about.

Answer:

Most of the time, wrestlers are hit with the seat portion (the @$$ end) of the chair as opposed to the back support of the chair. Two decent wrestlers can pull it off easily without being stiff. Other times, the hands and forearms are used for the block but they fall and act injured anyways to sell the chairshot.
The best one in recent history was Matt Hardy's cause usually the chair shot doesn't end the match in hardcore matches but there it was the chair shot heard round the wwe universe
Most okorder /... And no, it's obvious that con-chairtos barely make contact with the person's head.
when slapped with the chair, the holder of the chair will seperate the legs slightly this will make a louder sound when it connects, so that the audience thinks that they saw a guy get beat down, when the chair is punched into the belly the victim and the attacker have trained to perform the move and the victim will move a bit so that it looks like he was hit harder than he really was, it is all kinda like a complex choreographed movie fight there is a little danger, but it is generally controlled so as to minimize it.
