Question:

how do you cut a metal wire?

I already tried wire cutters, and they just bend it!

Answer:

If you can, put the wire in a bench vice and use a hacksaw to cut your wire. You can still use the hacksaw even if you don't have a bench vice. It just makes it easier. Hope this helps good luck. Richard
you must be speaking of steel wire. in either case copper or steel wire...the answer is ...a good pair of wire cutters. steel cable(with strands) is even tougher and you need a good pair of .......cable cutters. some pliers have a version of a wire cutter and some wire cutters for copper wire have screw cutters that may function to cut steel wire.
Get a new pair of wire cutters. That's what wire cutters do... Cut wire.
Using the wire cutters bend it back and forth, over and over and it will break the wire
Need more information: How thick (heavy) is the wire? What's it used for? What kind of wire cutters are you using? Is it one strand or multiple strands?
