Question:

How do you fill a tire with cement?

I was wondering because I'm making a base for my heavy bag stand and I found a really strong old tire (with the rim) and I already have the cement I just need to know how to fill it with cement and how to put the pole in it also.

Answer:

I do not get how a couple of them say to do this and keep the bead of there on the wheel. The tire needs to be seated on the wheel and let the air out. Then cut the tire in a spot and use this to pour the cement in at. I would just in large the valve stem hole myself and put sand in the tire though. Find the car that the wheel fits on and get some old axle shafts to bolt to the wheel or wheels. Have someone weld what ever you need on the spline end of the axle shaft. (assuming you do not weld yourself) If you weld yourself the possibilities are endless. If you are set on cement then just find some nice large flour pots of some sort or the large plastic water bottles. Find other that is easier than a tire and wheel. rd
to fill... stand it upright, cut a hole or slit to pour the concrete in.... have someone weld up a bracket for you to mount the pole...
Lay it down on ground, fill the center with sand up to inside lip of tire, about 3. Fill with cement up to upper inside lip of tire. Don't worry about removing air inside top part, the air gap will not hurt. Place a steel pipe in it with threaded end that sticks up several inches to attach pole.
first you have to get the tire off of the rim. Then stand the tire on edge and fill the bottom half with cement. Let cure overnight and do the other half.
Try to screw a piece of plywood to the bottom of the tire ( the tire needs to be laying flat on the ground) and then pour the cement into the tire with the pole in it. You will need to recruit someone to help you hold the pole. Hope this helps, and good luck
