Question:

how do you get blood out of cement?

just got our driveway done and a boy got a bloody nose and little bit of blood splatters on our new cement, which waslaid 48 hours ago? any help?

Answer:

To remove blood stains from cement, wet the stains with water and cover them with a layer of sodium peroxide powder; let stand for a few minutes, rinse with water and scrub vigorously. Follow with the application of a 5 percent solution of vinegar to neutralize any remaining sodium peroxide.
Here's the best way to remove blood from concrete or cement: Wet the bloodstain with clear water and cover it with a thin, even layer of sodium peroxide powder. See your local pharmacist for this. It is basically the same powder they use to remove color from your hair before dying it. Take care not to breath any of the peroxide dust nor to allow it to come in contact with the skin, as it is very caustic. Sprinkle the powder with water or apply a water-saturated bandage and allow it to stand for a few minutes. Wash with clear water and scrub vigorously. Next, brush a 5% solution of acetic acid (vinegar) on the surface to neutralize any alkaline traces left by the sodium peroxide. Rinse with clear water at the end of the treatment. Hydrogen peroxide or trisodium phosphate can be substituted for the sodium peroxide, although they may not work as well. Vinegar neutralization is not necessary with the hydrogen peroxide treatment.
Soak with cold water and add lot?s of salt . The blood should lift out this way
Things go better with coke a cola (LOL) seriously police use coke for cleaning up accident sites. I forget where the list is at right now. It has all the things that coke is used for. Coke removes rust, battery corrosion and a multitude of things.
A driveway doesn't have to be perfectly level. If you get a machine sander from a hireall place and powderize the cement in the stained areas to the depth of the stain, you should be able to literally blow it away, then reset new cement in that area if neccessary. Also, you can use cement a bit like the white out paste used in the stationary world, let it set, and you're all good. Which option you take depends on how perfect you want your driveway to look.
