I'm not completely sure if this will help, but when that message came up on my computer, i clicked file, disconnect. Then i hit file, reconnect and it usually connected perfectly.
Lime wire or other p2p sharing programs usually use different ports for downloading files. It would switch ports if certain ports are blocked by your computer. Just try disabling your firewall for a few minutes and see if its the firewall blocking it. It could be something else, maybe your antivirus program is interfering. Isolate the problem and then turn back on one by one. Hope it helps.
