Question:

how do you recycle small scrapes of yarn?

hi, i am a knitter and have been collecting the tails, and used peices of yarn that i could not use and turned them into a ball 1 foot in diameterthe yarn is 2 inchs long to several yards longwhat do i do with them? i dont want to throw them out.

Answer:

I think of a mold as being outsideThe first answer assumes you mean as a core Aluminum foil on the outside will prevent the paper mache from drying very quickly.
Look for scrap projects; depending on their length, of course, you can make stuff like a scarf with lots of colored stripes - the colors can even go for one row onlyIf you do this, consider learning to crochet well enough to do an edging of sc all around to hide all the yarn endsIf you ever make stuffed animals, leftover yarn bits make great stuffing - especially if the match the colorIf they are animal fiber like wool you can felt them, but the acrylic ones won't felt.
