Question:

How do you remove the windshield wipers from a 1989 Chevy S10?

Ok, we got the hood off, all the screws taken out, NOW we need to know how to take of the windshield wipers to get the panel below it (what the wipers come out threw) OFF.How is this done?

Answer:

Check if the motor itself is moving. If it moves the linkage but not the arms, the arms themselves are stripped and need to be replaced. They have splines and strip out pretty easy. If there is no movement, check the wiring harness for corrosion or loose plug. Otherwise, change the motor. Good luck.
call the dealer and talk to service tech, they will give you accurate and most effective way to remove these and not damage anything in process
Lift the wiper like you are going to wipe underneath it. Near the base of the arm, right where it hinges, there is a small tab. Gently pry the tab out and let the wiper back down. This will leave the wiper sitting higher than it was. Then put a small amount of pressure on the wiper to loosen it, and it should lift off. When putting it back on align it , set the wiper back on the base, and lift the wiper and push the tab back in and let it go back down to the windshield. Don't turn on the wipers while they are off or it may cause them to not be put back on in the right place.
