how do you take off driver side axle from rear end of a 99 lincoln town car?
Unless I'm mistaken, which I'm positive I'm not, the town car has a solid rear axle. So that means both sides use the same housing, a ford 8.8 axle as it's called. To get the actual AXLE shaft itself off, you would have to remove the rear differential cover, drain the differential fluid, disassemble the rear brakes, remove the C clip which retains the axle, and pull it out. Reassembly is opposite of removal.
