Question:

How do you take off windshield wipers to put new ones on?

Bought innovision wiper blades

Answer:

Most newer cars have the hook style wipers. There is a tab on the plastic clip that you pull up and they should slide down towards the arm. The new ones will clip right in. Some of the older Fords have the pin that pushes in to the blade. Those you need a screwdriver to kind of pry them off.
A sawzall and a Sledge Hammer. Or you could try reading the instructions located on the side of the packaging. Did I get the right size? is what you should be asking yourself
Start the car, put the windshield wipers on; when they are accessible (i.e. straight up and down), shut the engine off so they remain in place. Then, look for a small lever, clip or a button which has to be released while you gently separate the blade from the wiper arm. You may need a small screwdriver, or a key or something hard, sharp and narrow, in order to press the release button or lever. Carefully put the new blade in position and replace the old one with the new one (make sure the clip fastens as you'll lose the blade otherwise). When you've finished installing both wipers, start the engine again, turn off the windshield wipers and when they are in the correct stored position, shut the engine off.
