How does 4 wheel low work?

I have a Ford F150 with 4 wheel drive. It has a rear limited slip axel. As I understand it, neither the front nor the rears lock, ever. If that‘s the case, why do they say to never drive on dry pavement in 4 wheel low?

When you put it in low range, you're effectively increasing the torque to the drive wheels. In 4WD, you get more scuffing of the tires and stress on the driveshafts and spindles and axles, so driving on pavement in 4WD (either high or low) causes more wear and can break parts. Low range just increases the chances of this happening.
bc 4 wheel low is for stuff like really soft sand and snow and stuff. driving on the pavement with it would just chew up ur tires. 4 wheel low just means its an even lower gear than regular 4 wheel drive and with that u have more power to get unstuck
